Just to counter the heavy heart we have after Durga Pujo gets over, we have our Lakhsmi Pujo. We celebrate it in the same Mandap that we have for our Durga Pujo. It becomes another opportunity for all of us to come together and enjoy life together. Lakhsmi thakur, being the goddess of wealth, prosperity, auspiciousness, and good fortune, visits her devotees and bestows gifts and blessings upon each of them. To welcome the Goddess, we clean our houses, decorate them with finery and lights, and prepare sweet treats and delicacies as offerings. We believe the happier Lakshmi thakur is with the visit, the more she blesses the family with health and wealth.
